Love overlooks unkindness... 1 Peter 4:8 AMP

Above all, have fervent and unfailing love for one another, because love covers a multitude of sins [it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others]. 1 Peter 4:8 AMP

I've covered 1 Peter 4:8 before but it was via my podcast Chasing After Him.  It was entitled:  Intensely Love One Another.  We looked at the Passion Translation version of 1 Peter 4:8 which says:  Above all, constantly echo God's intense love for one another, for love will be a canopy over a multitude of sins.  

I like that the AMP says at the end of the verse "it overlooks unkindness and unselfishly seeks the best for others".  It also says God's love is unfailing.  It never fails. 

Love overlooks unkindness, therefore you need to do the same.  Love unselfishly seeks the best for others, therefore you must do the same.  If you want this for yourself, then you must sincerely do it for others first.  As we learned in Philippians 2, we need to put the needs of others first, before our own.  This is how we intensely love one another.
