The Fantastic Four: The Father, The Son, the Holy Spirit and You! (Part 3)

 

    Thank you so much for getting into this mini devotional with me!  The Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit and You! Yes, You! You have been blessed with supernatural powers through the power of the Holy Trinity! When Jesus ascended into Heaven He left with us the same power that raised Him from the dead! It lives inside of You! So, far we have discussed it's four elements according to our Fantastic Four analogy:  Johnny Storm-fire, Sue Storm-sheild/invisibility, Reed Richards-stretching/freedom of movement & The Thing-strength.  

    Now, you know we can't end this without talking about the Fantastic Four's archnemesis.  Yes, we must talk about our enemy.  For those of you who are not comic book fans, the Fantastic Four's main villian is none other than Dr. Doom.  

    Dr. Doom-evil; egotistical, greedy, prideful, covetous and manipulative.  Just like our villian:  Satan. 

1 Peter 5:8 amp, Be sober [well balanced and self-disciplined], be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion [fiercely hungry], seeking someone to devour.

Galatians 5:19-21 amp, Now the practices of the [a]sinful nature are clearly evident: they are sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality (total irresponsibility, lack of self-control), 20 [b]idolatry, [c]sorcery, hostility, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions [that promote heresies], 21 envy, drunkenness, riotous behavior, and other things like these. I warn you beforehand, just as I did previously, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

Revelation 12:9 amp, And the great dragon was thrown down, the age-old serpent who is called the [a]devil and Satan, he who continually deceives and seduces the entire inhabited world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him.

    If you listen to the devil's lies and fall into perpetual sin your are "doomed" to suffer some consequences.  The wages of sin is death. 

    The Fantastic Four wasn't able to defeat Dr. Doom, until they were united.  Throughout the movie he tried to create disunity between the four because he knew if they united they could defeat him.  The same can be said of us as the body of Christ (Heb. 10:25 & Ecc. 4:12) and you in your personal walk with Christ.  United with the Father, Son and the Holy Spirit you can defeat the devil! 

Romans 8:11 amp, And if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead lives in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit, who lives in you.

    We are "superheroes" in Christ's eyes.  Every hero must derive his or her power from somewhere and ours comes from God.  Tap into it, release it, and grind your enemies into dust! (Psalm 18:37-42)
