Out of Love, by Bloodgood! Out of love, Out of compassion! Titus 3:5 & Matt. 25:35-40AMP
He saved us, not because of any works of righteousness that we have done, but because of His own compassion and mercy, by the cleansing of the new birth (spiritual transformation, regeneration) and renewing by the Holy Spirit. Titus 3:5AMP
For I was hungry, and you gave Me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave Me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited Me in; 36I was naked, and you clothed Me; I was sick, and you visited Me [with help and ministering care]; I was in prison, and you came to Me [ignoring personal danger].’ 37Then the righteous will answer Him, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, and feed You, or thirsty, and give You something to drink? 38And when did we see You as a stranger, and invite You in, or naked, and clothe You? 39And when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40The King will answer and say to them, ‘I assure you and most solemnly say to you, to the extent that you did it for one of these brothers of Mine, even the least of them, you did it for Me.’ Matt. 25:35-40AMP
On my way home from work last night, it was Bloodgood all the way home. Just before I got to the house though the song "Out of Love" hit. Anyone who's heard a Bloodgood song knows it always goes hard:
Out of love
Out of compassion
You turned Your light on me
To end my misery
Out of love
Out of compassion
I found I needed you
No one else will do
(Lam. 3:22, Matt. 9:36)
Out of mercy and compassion He saved us (John 3:16-17). He took on all of our troubles and cares for us (Isaiah 53). This song is so powerful:
When I was reading in the book of light
This touched my soul, I stayed awake all night
The written Word was in my thoughts
The truth I heard opened up my heart
"Touched my soul", Romans 10:8-21. The Word drew him and draws us to God. "Written Word was in my thoughts, the Truth I heard opened up my heart". Hearing the Word brought Him to Christ and brings us to Christ. It was in his thoughts, his heart (Ps. 119:11). It was the Word that brings this about (John 1:1; 14).
You were lead like a lamb to slaughter
And as you bled, hell got hotter
And as I read my emotions were shattered
As I envisioned your body battered
Isaiah 53, the Suffering Servant. He died and bled for us. He gave His life for us. For you. Is. 53:5, But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed. He did this so that you may have life and life more abundantly!
When I was walking in the valley of the shadow
It was cold, it was a battle
Word on the street was the code to live by
But now I know it was the way to die
Whenever you're in the valley God has always got your back (Psalm 23). Remember, there are blessings in the valley, too. There are lessons to be learned in the valley. Lean on Him in the valley and always.
Out of love
Out of compassion
I found I needed you
No one else will do
Only He can carry your burdens (Matt. 11:28-30)
Only He can save you (John 3:17). No one else keeps his word like Jesus. He heals, He blesses, He cares, He loves, He listens, He protects, He knows all, sees all and can do all things. Everything He does for you is, Out of love, Out of compassion.
