Receive, Daniel 9:9NIV

Dan. 9:9 (NIV) The Lord our God is merciful and forgiving, even though we have rebelled against Him.  (Lk. 15:20 & Ps. 103:8, 13)

The bible is so no non-sense.  So practical and full of common sense, which is one of the many reasons why we need the Word, because as my aunt is so fond of saying "common sense isn't common".  However, this passage is amazing and simple and direct. 

He is merciful and forgiving EVEN THOUGH we have rebelled against Him.  He is the same yesterday, today and forever (Heb. 13:8).  So, He is still merciful and forgiving yesterday, today, tomorrow and forever.  For all time He will be merciful and forgiving.  Once again, read Luke 15:11-32 and Psalm 103.  They teach us that He is merciful and forgiving; and full of compassion.  Don't ever think you've run to far away, because He's never stopped running after you, as the good Shepherd.  Never think you're too dirty.  Let Him catch you.  Be still and know that He is God (Ps. 46:10).  It's His job as the good Shepherd to clean His sheep, not yours.  Don't let the world dictate to you that you must get clean first to come to Him.  That's not how it works.  You come and receive.  That's it.  Come and receive His mercy and forgiveness. (John 3:17)
