Keep your mind, Col. 3:2 (NIV)
Col. 3:2 (NIV), Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. (Titus 2:11-12, Romans 8:6 & Romans 12:2)
Keep my mind on higher things, keep my mind on truth...
(Keep My Mind, Margaret Becker)
What is your mind on? Where is your mind? What is your mind fixated or focused on? Why are you concerned with the matters of the flesh? Why are you worried about what others are doing, what they have or who they know? Why are you consumed with acquiring more of anything? Why are you letting social media cause you unneeded stress?
In Matthew 24:35, Jesus tells us that Heaven and earth will all pass away but His words are forever. Jesus, who is the Word (John 1:14), is forever. So, what is your mind set on? Get your mind off of the things around you and on to God & His word. Romans 8:6 teaches us that a mind of the Spirit is life and peace. It comes with walking with God, not walking with the world. How do we get there? Romans 12:2 tells us how. It tells us to renew our minds, which we all know is a daily process requiring us to stay in His Word daily. Doing so will transform us. Doing so will keep our minds set on what's above. It keeps our focus on Jesus. It keeps our minds on higher things, keeps our minds on truth.
