Serve Him first, Ps. 119:125(NIV)

Ps. 119:125 I am your servant; give me discernment

    that I may understand your statutes.(NIV)

Ps. 119:125 

I am Your servant; give me understanding [the ability to learn and a teachable heart]

That I may know Your testimonies.(AMP)

This scripture doesn't say because I am the best, I have a degree, I have the most followers, or the biggest congregation or the most credentials; I know more scripture than most, I dress holier than others: it says, "I am Your servant".  I serve You. We serve the Lord first, not ourselves, then others.  Second, if you want to know how to do so, it's found in the second part of this verse.  Give me understanding or discernment.  A teachable heart! Be teachable! So I can understand Your statues.  Ask for understanding and you'll receive it.  But serve first...serve the Lord first. Not the world and not yourself.  We all serve the Lord.
