Steadfast & Patient, Rom.12:12amp

constantly rejoicing in hope [because of our confidence in Christ], steadfast and patient in distress, devoted to prayer [continually seeking wisdom, guidance, and strength],

Everything about this scripture is exactly how we should be living. Word for word we as believers should be walking with this mindset

If we are confident in Christ then should we not be constantly rejoicing in hope? As believers are we not to be devoted to prayer? The Amplified version says "continually seeking wisdom, guidance and strength". We ought to always be seeking these from the only one who can constantly and consistently give them to us: Jesus.

The core of this verse to me though is being "steadfast and patient in distress". Ask yourself that question today. Are you steadfast and patient in distress? Are you following Jesus' example in Mark 4:38? Are you asleep in the stern of the boat in the midst of the storm because you are confident in your God? Because you are confident in our Father? We need to learn to sleep in the stern during times of distress. We need to learn to be steadfast and patient. We need to be still and know that He is our God. Be steadfast and patient in the midst of your circumstances today and always, in Jesus name, Amen.
