It Don't Mean Nothing, Gal. 1:10amp
Galatians 1:10 AMP
[10] Am I now trying to win the favor and approval of men, or of God? Or am I seeking to please someone? If I were still trying to be popular with men, I would not be a bond-servant of Christ.
As believers this is the mindset we must have. Paul set the perfect example in this verse right here. He deliberately asks two rhetorical questions. I’d almost say that there may have been some sarcasm in those questions as well.
No, we are not trying to win the approval of men and we should never be seeking to please anyone but God. The approval of man or of the world should mean nothing to you because it is exactly that: NOTHING. True servants of Christ would not be trying to be popular. Those of you trying to fleece us out of our finances for a plane or a new building; or trying to increase your social media followers or the numbers of your congregation are not true servants.
True servants never care about what the world thinks or wants. What they care about are where people are going after they leave this selfish world. What they care about is how does God see me? What they care about is how can I please God everyday? How can I serve my neighbor everyday?
