Center of Your Life, Matt. 6:21amp
Devo 12/6/24…
'Cause what consumes your thoughts controls your life
Matthew 6:21 AMP
[21] for where your treasure is, there your heart [your wishes, your desires; that on which your life centers] will be also.
Proverbs 23:7 AMP
[7] For as he thinks in his heart, so is he [in behavior—one who manipulates].
What if Jesus truly was the center of your heart? What if Jesus truly was the center of "our" hearts?! That is where He needs to be always and 24/7. As Scott Stapp sang, ‘Cause what consumes your thoughts controls your life. Jesus and His word is what should consume your thoughts, therefore, He would have Lordship over your life, which as believers we profess so loudly that He does.
Romans 12:2amp, And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be [a]transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].
2 Cor. 10:5amp, We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
We have to renew and transform our minds to think on Jesus and His word; and to take captive those thoughts that would cause us not to. We should be consumed with taking our fleshly thoughts captive and renewing our minds with His word. And, that would be the focus of our lives. It would be the focus of our hearts: to live for Him.
Put your heart in renewing your mind to be like the mind of Christ. Put your heart into taking those thoughts captive that are not aligned with the mind of Christ. Let Christ be the center of your life.
Remember, what consumes your thoughts controls your life.
