Rock Steady, Matthew 7:24-27amp
Rock Steady
Turn on your light and stay with me awhile
And ease your worried mind
Turn on your light
And stay with me awhile
And rock steady
Who is your Rock? Who do you have your light on for? What gives you peace of mind? What gives you peace in your soul and spirit? Who will stay with you till the end? Who is your ride or die? What is your foundation?
“You are the light of [Christ to] the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden; 15 nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on a lampstand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. 16 Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good deeds and moral excellence, and [recognize and honor and] glorify your Father who is in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16amp
“Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps. 8 The foolish ones said to the wise, ‘Give us some of your oil; our lamps are going out.’
9 “‘No,’ they replied, ‘there may not be enough for both us and you. Instead, go to those who sell oil and buy some for yourselves.’
10 “But while they were on their way to buy the oil, the bridegroom arrived. The virgins who were ready went in with him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut.
Matthew 25:7-10amp
“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. Matthew 11:28amp
“So everyone who hears these words of Mine and acts on them, will be like a wise man [a far-sighted, practical, and sensible man] who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of Mine and does not do them, will be like a foolish (stupid) man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods and torrents came, and the winds blew and slammed against that house; and it fell—and great and complete was its fall.” Matt. 7:24-27amp
He alone is my rock and my salvation,
My defense and my strong tower; I will not be shaken or disheartened. Ps. 62:2amp
So, turn on your light that lives inside of you. Stay with Him for eternity because He offers you peace and rest for your weariness. Ease your worried mind, be anxious for nothing because His peace passes all understanding (Phil. 4:7). His yoke is easy and His burden is light. Call upon Him to be your foundation. He is your solid rock in your times of trouble. Every move you make is founded upon His precepts. Be prepared and always stay lit for His return. And, Rock steady.
