Gracious Giving, Proverbs 19:17amp
Devo 3/4/25…
He who is gracious and lends a hand to the poor lends to the Lord,
And the Lord will repay him for his good deed. Proverbs 19:17amp
When you have been given grace upon grace, remember who gave it to you and extend that same grace to all of those around you. Extending grace can be shown in many forms and one of those especially is giving to those who are in need. When you are sincerely giving to those in need and I mean sincerely by not expecting anything in return, you are giving back to the Lord. And, it is the Lord who sees your heart and seed your good deed; and it is Him who will repay you.
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.” Luke 6:38amp
But when you give to the poor and do acts of kindness, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing [give in complete secrecy] Luke 6:3amp
Let each one give [thoughtfully and with purpose] just as he has decided in his heart, not grudgingly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver [and delights in the one whose heart is in his gift]. 2 Corinthians 9:7amp
That last scripture is the most important: give thoughtfully and with purpose just as he has decided in his what? His heart. Don’t give grudgingly or under compulsion. Key phrase here when it comes to giving: under compulsion. When your “heart” is in your gift God likes that. Remember wherever your heart is, your treasure is also there. (Matt. 6:21amp) So, if your heart is with the Lord, then not only will it be sincere, it will be gracious.
