Live Long and Prosper, 3 John 1:2amp

3 John 1:2 AMP

[2] Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and be in good health [physically], just as [I know] your soul prospers [spiritually]. 

As Spock has said numerous times, “Live long and prosper.” It is probably the most uttered phrase in Sci-fi history next to, “I find your lack of faith disturbing”.  The phrase to me is actually biblical.  We see that it is as we read the scripture for today in 3 John 1:2 because in essence that is what John is saying to us.  He is praying that we live long and prosper and this should be our prayer for all of those we come in contact with.  It should be our prayer for those who may be our enemies as well as for those we love.  We want all to “succeed and prosper and be in good health, just as” their soul prospers.  

Jesus came to give all of us life and life more abundantly:

John 10:10 AMP

[10] The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

When we give anything of ourselves to others we prosper immensely.  We are blessed beyond what we can comprehend:

Luke 6:38 AMP

[38] Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over [with no space left for more]. For with the standard of measurement you use [when you do good to others], it will be measured to you in return.”

Follow Jesus; and live a full abundant life now and after.  Give Jesus to others and you will prosper beyond anything you can comprehend.  So, to all my brothers and sisters:  live long… and prosper.
