Ask Anything, 1 John 5:14amp

1 John 5:14 AMP

[14] This is the [remarkable degree of] confidence which we [as believers are entitled to] have before Him: that if we ask anything according to His will, [that is, consistent with His plan and purpose] He hears us.

This is the "only" sense of entitlement we get to have. You don't deserve any other type of entitlement and I don't care who you are or what you do or how much money you make. Only children of the Most High King, and that would be Jesus, get to be confident to "ask anything according to His will".  We have the confidence to enter the throne room like Ruth and approach the King. 

Hebrews 4:16 AMP

[16] Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].

He pours grace upon grace upon us. He gives us mercy and compassion without an end to help us through our many failures and yet He still blesses us.  And on top of that He allows us to ask for anything according to His will.  He allows us to come alongside Him within His plan and purpose. We get to work with Him. Just as an earthly father shows his son how to change the oil in a car, our Heavenly Father hears us wanting to spend time with Him and He answers.  He grants our requests and helps us to accomplish it.
