Make Love Great Again, 1 John 3:11amp

1 John 3:11 AMP

[11] For this is the message which you [believers] have heard from the beginning [of your relationship with Christ], that we should [unselfishly] love and seek the best for one another; 

Yes, this is something that we must remember and abide by.  John is definitely speaking to believers, which would be us.  From the very beginning of your relationship, the moment you gave your life to Christ, the moment you began to give all and live only for Christ, you should be seeking the best for your fellow believers.  You should love your fellow believers.  The AMP version says “unselfishly love”.  Are you doing that?  Are we doing that as the body of Christ?  Are we living that example for non-believers?  In other words what John is saying, don’t act slow, you’ve always known we should be loving one another and seeking the best for one another.  There shouldn’t be a day that we are not encouraging one another.  There shouldn’t be a day without extending grace, mercy and love to one another.  Cease the backstabbing, throwing one another under the bus and putting targets on believers backs.  

We shouldn’t have to but Stryper has said:  Make love great again, Fight for it 'til the end, Don't let the darkness in, Make love great again.  If we were all living this scripture I don’t think Michael Sweet would have had to pen this song.  If we want to make something great again, it needs to be love and nothing else.  Love is the greatest force in the universe.  Remember, it was love that created the earth in 6 days.  It was love that saved Daniel from the lions in the den.  It was love that forgave David.  It was love that delivered the Israelites from Egypt.  It was love that spit Jonah back onto the shore.  It was love that stayed Abraham’s hand and provided a ram in the bush.  It was love that was beaten, broken and nailed to a cross.  It was love that died, was buried and rose on the third day for you that you might have life; and life more abundantly.  It’s that same love, that if you’re a believer, lives inside of you not only to bless your fellow brethren but more importantly to lead more to know the love that lives inside of you.  But, they won’t come to know Him unless they see us loving each other as He loves them.  Make love great again.
