Proverbs 19:6 NLT

[6] Many seek favors from a ruler; everyone is the friend of a person who gives gifts!

Ain’t that the truth! When you know someone who knows someone you will definitely go to them for favors.  When you are connected to someone who’s famous or has some type of power or authority over anything we are known for going to these types of people for favors.  But, how come you’re not coming to them or reaching out to them when you don’t need something?  Have we thought about that?  Have we thought about the fact that these same people might not know Jesus and they have the chance to know Him every time “we” are in their presence.  However, we fail to share Him with them because we are there for our own wants and needs, not the Lord’s.  The only “favor” you need to seek is favor from the Lord. 

The same can be said of our “gift givers”, especially if we’re the “gift giver”.  Ever notice how every one is your friend when you have “things” or give people “things”.  The things of this world will NEVER satisfy you which is why those types of people continue to seek out those that can only give things to them. They’re only there for what someone else can do for them.  They’re not looking for a real relationship.  I would say we need to avoid those types at all costs but actually it's the opposite.  We need to seek them out because we have the greatest gift inside of us to give to them!  Share it today!
