Never Far Away, Jer. 23:23-24 AMP

Jeremiah 23:23-24 AMP

[23] ¶“Am I a God who is at hand,” says the Lord, “And not a God far away?” [24] “Can anyone hide himself in secret places So that I cannot see him?” says the Lord. “Do I not fill heaven and earth?” says the Lord.

There are many times when we would like to think that God is far away, that He is somewhere so far away that He can’t get to us or help us.  Not so.  Jeremiah 23:23-24 teaches us that He is not a God who is far away.  Our God is always at hand. He will never leave us nor forsake us.  Our God is an awesome God.  Our God has known us and been with us since the creation of the earth and before (Ps. 139).  He knows all of us intimately (Ps. 139).  It is impossible to hide from God.  Reading the book of Jonah will teach you that if Jer. 23:23-24 doesn’t work for you.  There is no place that you can go where the Lord won’t find you.  He is all things and is in all things.  He is the everlasting ever present God.  The make of heaven and earth and He fills both with His presence.  Whenever you need Him the Lord is at hand.  Remember this always.
