Peace and Quiet, Ecc. 4:6amp

Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.

Ecc. 4:6 ESV

I couldn’t have said it better myself.  Wouldn’t you rather have a few moments of quiet or rather a lot of quiet than working your fingers to the bone just to gain nothing? I so value my peace and quiet.  It wasn’t until I got older that I did.  And now that I am older, I think why didn’t I value my peace and quiet when I was younger?  Have you thought the same thing?  Who wants to work all day for naught?  Who wants to deal with drama and strife all day?  None of us do.  The author of Ecclesiastes was exactly right.  What we wouldn’t give for just a small, tiny amount of peace compared to a whole bunch of drama we don’t want or need?  If only we could get this current generation to understand this concept.  Quiet is such a fragile thing.  It is such a treasured thing.  It is worth more than anything just as peace is valued more than anything or at least it should be.  Since we value both so much, shouldn’t it be our goal to make sure that we are cultivating both within our relationships and our life on a daily basis?  We do this by inviting the Lord and His word into our lives daily.  We do this by making it a routine to read His word and speak to Him daily.  The word says He is the God of Peace.  Again, who better to give you peace than the Lord?
