Get Our Hearts Back, 2 Chron. 7:14NIV
Got to get my heart back to the way it used to love (The way it used to love)
The way it used to be (The way it used to be)
And the way it used to feel (The way it used to feel before I)
Before I (fell in love), c'mon
Fell in love with you
(Keyshia Cole-Got To Get My Heart Back)
and My people, who are called by My Name, humble themselves, and pray and seek (crave, require as a necessity) My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear [them] from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
When he finally came to his senses, he said to himself, ‘At home even the hired servants have food enough to spare, and here I am dying of hunger! 18I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you, 19and I am no longer worthy of being called your son. Please take me on as a hired servant.”’
20 “So he returned home to his father. And while he was still a long way off, his father saw him coming. Filled with love and compassion, he ran to his son, embraced him, and kissed him.
"He gives strength to the weary, and to him who has no might He increases power." Is. 40:29AMP
For some reason everytime I hear this song, Got To Get My Heart Back, I think of someone coming back to the Lord. I think of someone who has finally decided to turn away from idols. To turn away from the things of the world. Thus the last part of that chorus, Before I fell in love with you, denoting before I fell in love with whatever the world was or is offering me or us. Before we fell in love with that idol called money, fame or alcohol. Or just anything that we choose to put before God because that’s what an idol is: Anything on this planet or in this universe that we choose to serve or focus on instead of God. That’s why we are referencing 2 Chronicles 7:14, if you humble yourself, seek and pray to the Lord; and turn from your ways, He will heal you. He will hear you. Just as the prodigal son came to his senses and returned to the Father so can we. Isaiah 40:29AMP, He will give us the strength to get through. His strength is always there to help us get back to Him. Reach out and ask for it today. Let’s get our hearts back to loving the Lord.
