Guardian: Do You Know What Love Is?
Do
you know what love is
Can you feel what love is
Do you know what love
Do you know what love
Love is
Deeper than emotion
Comin' stronger than all devotion
Do you know what love
Do you know what love
Love is
Deeper than the ocean
Isn’t that always the question in our society today? Do
you know what love is? So, do we know what love is? The bible has already answered that question
of us:
4 Love
is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not
proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not
self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love
does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It
always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and
God in them. 17 This is how love is made
complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of
judgment: In this world we are like Jesus. 18 There
is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to
do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.
13 Greater
love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
25 Husbands,
love your wives [seek the highest good for her and surround her with a caring,
unselfish love], just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself up for
her, 26 so that He might sanctify the church,
having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word [of God], 27 so
that [in turn] He might present the church to Himself in glorious splendor,
without spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that she would be holy [set
apart for God] and blameless. 28 Even so husbands
should and are morally obligated to love their own wives as
[being in a sense] their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves
himself. 29 For no one ever hated his own body, but
[instead] he nourishes and protects and cherishes it, just as
Christ does the church, 30 because we are members
(parts) of His body.
16 “For
God so [greatly] loved and dearly prized the world,
that He [even] gave His [One and] [a]only begotten Son, so that whoever
believes and trusts in Him [as Savior] shall not
perish, but have eternal life.
1 Cor. 13:4-7, 1 John 4:16-18, John 15:13, Eph. 5:25-30
& John 3:16 (NIV & AMP)
The next time you or we are asked if we know what love
is, we need to pull these scriptures out of our spirit and share this same love
with those who don’t know what it is.
Heavenly Father, continually remind us of these unconditional
acts of Your love and continue to give us the guidance; and strength to always
share this with those who don’t know You.
Good Word! Very needed!
