He's your Cornerstone!

Bible by my bedside, Sweatin through a long night

Wrestling the hounds of shame, Tryna to turn the hands back on a troubling past

Every move I make’s in vain  (Cornerstone:  Toby Mac & Zach Williams)

This verse is the perfect description of prodigals after they’ve returned home.

'So he got up and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion for him, and ran and embraced him and kissed him. '

Luke 15:20

'For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may endure for a night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Ps. 30:5

He has compassion for all of us. He wishes for us to come home always and forever.  As prodigals or former prodigals we need to hold on to the fact that “joy” comes in the morning after that long night of  “wrestling the hounds of shame” & “trying to turn the hands back on a troubling past”.  We are saved through His compassion for us! We are redeemed through His compassion for us!

'Come to Him [the risen Lord] as to a living Stone which men rejected and threw away, but which is choice and precious in the sight of God. '

1 Peter 2:4

He is the living stone which we must build our faith and foundation upon on the daily! He is our cornerstone! We have prayed Psalm 51 and we stand on 1 John 1:9, knowing He has removed our transgressions as far as the east is from the west (Ps. 103:12).

(Chorus)

The sun goes up, the sun comes down

This old world keeps spinnin' 'round

I'm here travelin' down this long and winding road

Seasons come and seasons go

They take me high, then leave me low

But I'm still standing on the only rock I know

You're my cornerstone   (Cornerstone:  Toby Mac & Zach Williams)

The seasons come and go; the sun sets and rises every day.

'One generation goes and another generation comes, But the earth remains forever. Also, the sun rises and the sun sets; And hurries to the place where it rises again. The wind blows toward the south, Then circles toward the north; The wind circles and swirls endlessly, And on its circular course the wind returns. '

Ecc. 1:4-6

'There is a season (a time appointed) for everything and a time for every delight and event or purpose under heaven— '

Ecc. 3:1

Throughout all of this there is only one constant:  God.  God is still God no matter what and He never changes (Ps. 46:10 & Jesus Christ is [eternally changeless, always] the same yesterday and today and forever. Heb. 13:8).  He is always there for you.  He is our cornerstone.
