Believe with your heart and confess with your mouth... Romans 10:10 AMP
For with the heart a person believes [in Christ as Savior] resulting in his justification [that is, being made righteous—being freed of the guilt of sin and made acceptable to God]; and with the mouth he acknowledges and confesses [his faith openly], resulting in and confirming [his] salvation. Romans 10:10 AMP
Why is the heart so important? Because by these scriptures we know that God test's the heart: Prov. 3:5, Prov. 21:2, Proverbs 17:3, Jeremiah 17:10 and 1 Samuel 16:7.
Believe with your heart and confess with your mouth and you will be saved. If you want to be made righteous, freed from the guilt & weight of your sin: believe with your heart & confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord. If you want to be made right with and acceptable to God: believe with your heart & confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord.
Confessing confirms your believe & your salvation. And, that is why daily we tell everyone that we are saved. We tell everyone because we are free & Jesus wants you to be free, too! He came to save you. He came to free you. Not to condemn you (John 3:17). Don't wait any longer. Don't run any longer. Trust me, I know about running! I ran from my calling and ministry for seven years or more. If you already know Him like me and you're running, you can always come home (Luke 15:11-32). And, if you don't know Him, now is the time to do so. The time is now. Tomorrow may never come. Believe with your heart & confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and you will be saved.
