Mind your own business, 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

and to make it your ambition to live quietly and peacefully, and to mind your own affairs and work with your hands, just as we directed you, 12 so that you will behave properly toward outsiders [exhibiting good character, personal integrity, and moral courage worthy of the respect of the outside world], and be dependent on no one and in need of nothing [be self-supporting].

There's lots to pull from these two verses of scripture. First and foremost the AMP says, "mind your own affairs".  The NIV just straight up tells us "to mind your own business".  

Dear body of Christ, you would solve a lot of your problems, if you actually listened to the word of God and would mind your own business.  Many of you say you do what the Bible says but you seem to forget 1 Thessalonians 4:11:  mind your own business. 

It also says "live quietly". Some of you have forgotten that as well.  Petra sang: sometimes God's children should be seen and not heard. In the second verse we see the term "outsiders" used.  It's referring to those of the world; non believers. Paul is telling the church in Thessaloniki, if they live quietly and mind their own business, they will behave properly towards those of the world.  Doing this shows good character, integrity and moral courage. This same message applies to us today body of Christ.  In other words, learn to shut your mouth, mind your own business, depend on God and let Him work.  If more of us did that, we'd see a lot more people come to know Christ from our "quiet" example of who Christ is:  Ps. 46:10.  Be still, and know that He is God.
