Unity, 1 John 4:20 & Eph. 2:14AMP

1 John 4:20 AMP

[20] If anyone says, “I love God,” and hates (works against) his [Christian] brother he is a liar; for the one who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.

Ephesians 2:14 AMP

[14] For He Himself is our peace and our bond of unity. He who made both groups—[Jews and Gentiles]—into one body and broke down the barrier, the dividing wall [of spiritual antagonism between us],

Our race, colors or ethnicities should not separate us.  If we are true believers, if we are sincere believers in Christ Jesus then the subject of race should never enter our minds or be upon our lips.  Read the scripture for yourself.  If you say you love God but hate, that is work against, your brother or sister you are a liar.  You can’t hate your brother or sister that you can see, then turn around and say you love God whom you haven’t seen.  It doesn’t work that way. You can’t serve two masters (Matt. 6:24):  love and hate.  John taught us in his letters that God is love (1 John 4:8).  How are you going to love Love and then hate your brother or sister?  Especially when Love loves all of us and bled and died for all of us.  He died for that brother or sister that you don’t like, too! Just as He died for you!

The only thing, the only thing that once separated us was the aspect of Jews and Gentiles.  But God, according to Ephesians 2:14, destroyed that wall between Jews and Gentiles.  He made us into one body through Jesus.  It says that He is our peace and bond of unity.  Through His blood, death and resurrection Christ has unified all.  Also, in light of that, neither should denominational doctrines separate us either.  Our foundation is Jesus.  If we have the same foundation then we are brothers and sisters regardless of how we choose to worship (Romans 14).

Those of you spreading hatred toward your brother or sister and claiming Christ, you are a contradiction.  You need to read Luke 10:25-37 & Luke 17:11-21.  Furthermore, just read the first four books of the New Testament.  Jesus never denied anyone salvation according to their race or ethnicity.  If you call yourself a follower of Christ, then do what He did, not what you want.  Believers in Christ do what Christ asks (Matt. 22:37-39).  Wake up, it’s time to die to yourself.  It’s time to sincerely love others.
